This is about the history of the Phonobar. I hope that through the contribution of others it will turn into a real Blog.
The bar was located in Amsterdam and well-known around the world. It became famous because a special kind of music was played there. Yes indeed Jazz!! But, not only this made the bar famous, also the variety of people visiting the bar made it as it was and last but not least the owners of the bar.

Introduction
The sixties was a turbulent period in Amsterdam and the Phonobar was part of it. The Phonobar opened its doors in 1960 and closed in 1973. 1973 was heartbreaking moment for a lot of people. The bar was run by Otto & Pops (his wife). Cor en Greetje were the most valuable colleagues among several other colleagues (Otto's brother Rinus, Janus, e.a.). It was located at the corner of the "Thorbeckeplein" and the "Herengracht" in Amsterdam.
